Embraer's order backlog reached a record $31.6 billion at end-Q4, up 20% from a year earlier, as it targets restoring annual deliveries to pre-pandemic 100 units within two years. It also formed a regional jet partnership with India's Adani Group and holds a 17% upside to a $92.45 target.

1. Record Backlog Fuels Growth Prospects

Embraer closed 2025 with a firm order backlog of $31.6 billion, representing a 20% increase year-on-year, according to its latest securities filing. The commercial aviation segment accounted for 65% of this backlog, driven by strong demand for regional jets in North America and Europe. Executive aviation orders rose 15%, underpinned by rising ultra-long-range deliveries, while defense contracts contributed the remaining 20%, including new maritime patrol and surveillance commitments from global customers.

2. Margins and Free Cash Flow on the Rise

Operating leverage has improved significantly as Embraer ramped up deliveries and optimized its production footprint. Gross margins expanded by 180 basis points in 4Q 2025 versus the prior year, while free cash flow reached $420 million for the full year, a 35% increase. Commercial Aviation margins widened to 12.5% and Executive Aviation achieved 18.2%, benefiting from streamlined supply chains and higher unit output. Analysts project further margin expansion with fixed-cost absorption as annual production capacity grows from 100 to 120 aircraft over the next two years.

3. Strategic Partnership with Adani Expands Footprint

In a landmark move, Embraer formed a joint venture with India’s Adani Group to establish a regional transport aircraft manufacturing and assembly facility in Gujarat. The venture aims to localize up to 60% of content by 2028 and target delivery of 50-60 regional jets annually to South Asian operators. This partnership marks Adani’s entry into aviation production and provides Embraer with preferential access to one of the world’s fastest-growing air travel markets.

4. Production Ramp-Up Targets Pre-Pandemic Output

Embraer’s commercial aviation chief announced plans to restore annual deliveries to the pre-pandemic level of approximately 100 aircraft within the next two years, leveraging its recently expanded São José dos Campos plant. Following the recent order surge—more than 200 new regional jet commitments in the past 12 months—the company intends to further increase capacity to 120 units by the end of 2027. This ramp-up is expected to drive economies of scale and underpin sustained earnings growth.
