Emerald Legacy’s $140M Advisory Team Joins LPL for Platform, Research Tools

LPL Financial announced the addition of Emerald Legacy Advisors' team, managing $140 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets, to its broker-dealer and RIA platform. Emerald Legacy's managing partners Jim McMurtry, Allie Konieczka and Michelle Reek left Wells Fargo Advisors Network to leverage LPL’s independent platform and research tools.

1. Addition of Emerald Legacy Advisors

LPL announced the onboarding of Emerald Legacy Advisors, a Kansas City–based wealth management firm led by managing partners Jim McMurtry, Allie Konieczka and Michelle Reek. The team transitioned from Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network to operate under LPL’s broker-dealer and RIA platform.

2. $140M Client Assets Transition

Emerald Legacy brings approximately $140 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets to LPL, reinforcing the firm’s expansion of advisor-affiliated assets. This addition follows the firm’s January 2024 rebrand reflecting its intergenerational leadership and focus on personalized wealth planning.

3. Strategic Platform Benefits

The advisors cited LPL’s independent platform, access to research, advanced technology and diverse investment and insurance solutions as key reasons for the move. LPL’s scale and flexibility aim to enhance Emerald Legacy’s ability to deliver tailored guidance and strengthen client relationships.
