Enbridge Says Line 5 In Wisconsin To Return To Service Between Aug 31 And Sept 5
ENB•Line 5 expected to restart after Wisconsin incident
Enbridge Inc. said it estimates return to service of Line 5 between Aug. 31 and Sept. 5 after a line strike in rural northern Iron County, Wisconsin.
The company said on Tuesday, Aug. 25, a parked, unoccupied semi-truck rolled into an open excavation site on a Line 5 valve project, striking the pipe and releasing natural gas liquids.
Enbridge said the affected section of pipe was immediately isolated, and Line 5 remains safely shut down.
The company said the incident involves the release of natural gas liquids (NGLs) — not natural gas.
