ENSG•Ensign Group’s REIT subsidiary purchased the real estate of two Texas skilled nursing facilities—126-bed Las Ventanas de Socorro in Socorro and 124-bed Los Arcos del Norte in El Paso—with operations leased to affiliated tenants effective July 1, 2026. These deals expand its portfolio to 398 operations and 183 assets.
1. Acquisition Details
Effective July 1, 2026, Ensign’s captive real estate arm, Standard Bearer Healthcare REIT, acquired the land and buildings for two skilled nursing facilities in Texas. The 126-bed Las Ventanas de Socorro in Socorro and the 124-bed Los Arcos del Norte in El Paso will be operated by Ensign-affiliated tenants under new long-term leases.
2. Portfolio Growth
These purchases increase Ensign’s total healthcare operations to 398 facilities and raise its owned real estate assets to 183 across 17 states. The transactions reinforce Ensign’s strategy of pairing real estate ownership with affiliated operations to drive stable rental income and operational control.
3. Strategic Outlook
Ensign’s leadership emphasizes continued expansion in high-demand markets, particularly Texas, where aging demographics support further skilled nursing investments. Management plans to pursue additional acquisitions of both well-performing and underperforming nursing, senior living and healthcare-related properties nationwide.
