Ericsson and Net Feasa Launch Global AI-Powered 4G/5G Maritime Connectivity Solution
Ericsson and Net Feasa have launched a global maritime connectivity solution combining Ericsson’s Radio System 4G/5G networks and on-demand 5G core with Net Feasa’s Agentic Control Tower AI platform. Initial deployments support live use cases such as reefer monitoring, dangerous goods handling and early heat detection.
1. Partnership Details
Ericsson has partnered with Net Feasa to integrate Ericsson Radio System products and on-demand 5G core with Net Feasa’s Agentic Control Tower AI platform, delivering secure, carrier-grade 4G and 5G connectivity on board container vessels for data-driven maritime operations.
2. Global Deployment and Use Cases
The solution is already deployed globally, powering live applications including refrigerated container monitoring, dangerous goods handling and early heat detection, enabling real-time alerts and enhanced operational oversight across long-distance voyages.
3. Technical Architecture
Onboard networks utilize Ericsson Radio System elements such as Radio 4490HP, Radio 2271 and Radio Processor 6355 with enhanced AI, while Ericsson On-Demand provides 5G core as-a-service and low-earth orbit satellite links for seamless backhaul connectivity.
4. Expansion Roadmap
Future plans include scaling the platform to additional vessel types and port environments, extending SIM-managed 4G/5G coverage across the entire maritime supply chain to deliver end-to-end visibility and proactive asset management.
