Essential Utilities said its Aqua Pennsylvania unit closed a $450,000 purchase of Ulster Municipal Authority’s water system assets in Ulster Township, Pennsylvania. The system serves about 180 customers. Pennsylvania regulators cleared the transaction on Aug. 27, 2026, and Aqua expects about $2 million in capital investment over five years to upgrade it. Customer base rates will not change at closing; future increases require Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission review.
