Ethan Allen shareholder Bergeron pushes board slate to revive growth at Nov. 4 meeting
ETD•Activist shareholder Doug Bergeron launched a video campaign backing five director nominees ahead of Ethan Allen’s Nov. 4, 2026, annual meeting. His group disclosed about 5.2% beneficial ownership and is seeking board seats, arguing the company needs to address decades of contraction.
1. Board challenge
Bergeron’s group is seeking seats through a dissident slate on a universal proxy card. The campaign cites weakened revenue, earnings, payroll and relevance versus peers, and points to 38 years under the same CEO as a driver of underperformance. The nominees propose modernizing the brand, upgrading digital and omnichannel capabilities, and improving merchandising, retail execution and operations.
