EU official says he is pushing for reforms to tackle excess industrial capacity in G20, WTO frameworks
XLI•EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic welcomed the Trump administration’s focus on combating excess industrial capacity and said he was pushing for reforms in the G20 and WTO; the EU is also working with the United States and allies on critical minerals cooperation.

Sefcovic said he welcomed the Trump administration’s focus on combating excess industrial capacity at a G20 trade ministers meeting this week and was pushing for similar reforms in the G20 and at the World Trade Organization. He said the EU was also working toward deeper cooperation with the United States and other allies on critical minerals to prevent their “weaponization” and secure global supply chains.
