Ex-Wabtec CEO Ray Betler Joins Intramotev Board to Drive Railcar Innovation
Former Wabtec CEO Ray Betler has joined Intramotev’s board as an independent director to guide its autonomous railcar expansion. Intramotev’s cars have moved over 350,000 tons for Carmeuse and launched a second commercial deployment with Watco in February.

Ray Betler, former president and CEO of Wabtec, has been appointed as an independent director of Intramotev. His role will involve advising on strategic growth initiatives as the company scales its autonomous railcar business.
2. Executive Track Record at Wabtec
Betler joined Wabtec in 2008 after rising through engineering ranks at Westinghouse. He oversaw global operations, led the $1.8 billion acquisition of Faiveley Transport and managed the merger with GE Transportation, growing revenue to over $8 billion.
3. Autonomous Rail Deployments Achieved
Intramotev is the only U.S. firm with autonomous railcars in commercial service, having transported more than 350,000 tons of material for mining customer Carmeuse. A second deployment launched with shortline operator Watco in February.

With Betler’s rail industry expertise, Intramotev aims to expand its customer base and enhance operational efficiency. His experience guiding large-scale integrations is expected to accelerate adoption of autonomous rail solutions.
