EZGO Forms US Autonomous EV Platform Alliance with Lithium Batteries, H1 2027 Launch
EZGO Technologies, Autotrax.ai and Zhejiang Hengyuan signed a framework agreement to combine lithium battery packs, intelligent VCS and iChassis chassis for U.S.-assembled autonomous commercial vehicles. The partners aim for a U.S. launch in H1 2027 with EZGO investing for a board seat to fund California assembly expansion.
1. Strategic Framework Agreement
EZGO Technologies signed a strategic framework agreement with Autotrax.ai Inc. and Zhejiang Hengyuan Machinery to create a vertically integrated autonomous commercial vehicle platform. The collaboration merges EZGO’s high-performance lithium battery packs and intelligent vehicle control system, Autotrax.ai’s California assembly and autonomous engineering capabilities, and Zhejiang Hengyuan’s patented iChassis chassis technology.
2. U.S. Assembly and Market Launch
The alliance will assemble all-weather autonomous logistics vehicles at Autotrax.ai’s California facility, satisfying U.S. localization and compliance requirements. The partners target a commercial launch in the first half of 2027, aiming to address the growing North American logistics and intelligent transportation markets.
3. Planned Equity Investment
As part of the agreement, EZGO will make a strategic equity investment in Autotrax.ai, with details to be finalized in a definitive agreement. Proceeds will support expansion of the U.S. assembly line, lithium battery testing capabilities and engineering scale-up, and EZGO will gain the right to appoint one director to Autotrax.ai’s board.
