Farnam Launches First EPA-Approved Equine Fly Spray with Two New Actives
Central Garden & Pet’s Farnam launched Endure Gold Killer Fly & Mosquito Control, the first EPA-approved equine spray featuring acetamiprid and etofenprox among six active ingredients for fast knockdown and extended protection. The product targets insecticide-resistant flies and fits rotational pest management, rolling out nationwide as peak fly season begins.
1. Endure Gold Launch
Farnam announced Endure Gold Killer Fly & Mosquito Control, presenting the first equine fly spray approved by the EPA to contain acetamiprid and etofenprox. The formula combines six active ingredients for rapid knockdown, extended protection, and targeted control of flies and mosquitoes on horses, ponies, foals, donkeys and mules.
2. Innovative Mode of Action
Developed at Farnam’s R&D facility, the spray offers a rotational integrated pest management solution to slow insecticide resistance. The inclusion of acetamiprid—a modern neonicotinoid—and fabric-exclusive etofenprox provides dual modes of action, supporting long-term efficacy over repeated applications.
3. Rollout and Company Impact
Endure Gold will reach retail and eCommerce channels nationwide as peak fly season begins, potentially driving incremental sales for Farnam’s equine segment. Central Garden & Pet, which reported $3.1 billion in fiscal 2025 net sales, reinforces its innovation track record through Farnam’s 80-year heritage in equine care.
