Federal Ammunition, Mossberg, Palladyne AI team on SwarmShot autonomous counter-drone system
PDYN•Palladyne AI entered a joint development partnership with Federal Ammunition and Mossberg to build SwarmShot, an autonomous airborne counter-drone system. Initial integration is planned as a mission add-on for Palladyne AI’s Gremlin-X quadcopter; development schedules and financial terms were not disclosed.
1. Partnership roles
The partners aim to develop a modular system that turns drones into reusable air-to-air interceptors operating as a coordinated swarm. Federal will lead ammunition design, Mossberg will build the airborne weapon module, and Palladyne AI will handle integration, fire control, autonomy and swarm coordination; a kit for third-party drones is planned after the initial Gremlin-X integration.
