Fed's Barkin: Can't rely on market interest rates to do the work on inflation
TLT•Barkin says market rates may not stay high enough to curb inflation
BALTIMORE, Sept 22 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve pays close attention to market financial conditions but cannot count on market interest rates to remain at levels adequate to lower inflation, Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin said on Tuesday.
“You can't count that today's yield curve will look like tomorrow's yield curve” Barkin told a Baltimore CFA group.
