First Capital said higher yields and larger average balances of interest-earning assets drove increased interest income, while lower average costs of interest-bearing liabilities reduced interest expense. The provision for credit losses was $355,000, and operating expenses rose mainly because of compensation, benefits and inflationary pressures.
