First Solar sues JA Solar, AMPS over U.S. TOPCon patent claims
FSLR•First Solar sued JA Solar and American Panel Solutions in Delaware federal court, alleging infringement of a patent covering manufacturing methods for TOPCon crystalline silicon solar cells.
1. Patent lawsuit
First Solar filed a patent infringement lawsuit against JA Solar, alleging infringement of U.S. Patent No. 9,130,074. The complaint also names American Panel Solutions, alleging unauthorized use of the patented technology in the U.S. market. First Solar said it acquired the TOPCon patent portfolio through its 2013 purchase of TetraSun.
