FirstEnergy has appointed Jennifer Lawless as Vice President of Enterprise Learning to implement its learning and development strategy across its workforce. Lawless, formerly Training Director at Exelon Utilities where she upgraded a learning management system for over 42,000 employees, will modernize technologies and champion accountability and safety.

1. Appointment Details

FirstEnergy named Jennifer Lawless Vice President of Enterprise Learning on April 9, 2026, reporting to Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Karen McClendon.

2. Role and Objectives

In her new role, Lawless will implement the enterprise learning and development strategy, modernize learning technologies, and advance leadership capabilities to foster accountability, safety and innovation across the organization.

3. Previous Experience

Prior to joining FirstEnergy, Lawless served as Training Director at Exelon Utilities, where she upgraded a learning management system for over 42,000 employees and contractors, established a centralized training organization, and developed leadership programs using the systematic ADDIE model.
