Fiserv is embedding Avalara’s DAVO sales tax automation directly into its Clover point-of-sale system, providing merchants with a seamless in-platform solution for sales tax compliance. This integration incorporates daily tax set-aside, real-time obligation tracking, and fully automated return filing and remittance.

Merchants gain automated daily segregation of sales tax from operating funds, reducing manual calculations and compliance errors while ensuring up-to-date rates and rules. The system automates filings and remits taxes on the merchant’s behalf, relieving business owners of administrative burdens.

DAVO holds set-aside tax funds in a secure account, preventing the commingling of tax dollars with working capital and safeguarding merchant cash flow. Taxes are guaranteed to be filed and remitted on time and in full, minimizing risk of late penalties.

The embedded tax tool is scheduled to launch later this year, with future phases set to introduce additional compliance services like business license guidance and filing support. This collaboration enhances Clover’s platform competitiveness and could drive increased merchant adoption and revenue growth for Fiserv.
