July 17 (Reuters) - Ford F.N is recalling 288,314 vehicles in the U.S. due to the possibility of roof rail covers coming loose and detaching from the vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Friday.
Here are the details:
- The recall affects certain 2016-2019 Explorer SUVs in the U.S.
- The risk involves a detached roof rail cover that can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
- As part of the recall remedy, dealers will inspect the roof rail covers and as necessary, repair or replace the push-pins, rail clips, or roof rail covers, free of charge.
