FOREX-Yen's rally to seven-month high weighs on dollar ahead of US CPI

The dollar index =USD, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies, was a subdued at 98.84 amid yen strength.
That left the euro EUR= and sterling GBP=D3 both largely flat, last at $1.1623 and $1.3538, respectively.
Market focus now shifts to U.S. inflation readings USCPFY=ECI this week, the last set of key data releases ahead of the FOMC meeting on September 15 to 16, with traders now pricing a roughly 60% chance of a Federal Reserve rate hike this month 0#USDIRPR following Friday's stronger-than-expected nonfarm payrolls report.
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said last week that inflation dynamics were key to his policy outlook and that he was leaning toward keeping rates steady if price pressures continued to moderate, but would support a hike if inflation failed to cool.
