Foxconn working on a new tie-up with OpenAI, says there is no AI bubble
NVDA•Foxconn Chairman Young Liu said the company is working on a collaboration with OpenAI and will announce details once they are confirmed. Liu said Foxconn expects double-digit growth next year and does not believe the AI industry is in a bubble.
1. OpenAI collaboration planned
Foxconn Chairman Young Liu said he met OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman and that an announcement would come once details of a collaboration are confirmed. The companies agreed last year to work together on designing and engineering data-center racks, components and other AI hardware.
2. AI business growth
Liu said the AI industry was not in a bubble and Foxconn expects to maintain double-digit growth next year. Foxconn has six factory buildings in Houston where it manufactures AI servers for Nvidia, and Liu said the company sees a need to expand further. Its cloud and networking products segment, which includes AI servers, accounted for 51% of second-quarter revenue, the company said in August.
