Francisco Partners to buy Moneris for about C$2 billion from BMO and RBC
BMO•Francisco Partners to acquire Moneris
Francisco Partners agreed to buy Canadian payments provider Moneris from BMO and RBC for about C$2 billion in cash.
BMO and RBC will split proceeds equally, retaining long-term exclusive referral agreements to send customers to Moneris.
Jeff Sloan, former Global Payments CEO, will join Moneris as chairman as the ownership changes.
The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of BMO and RBC’s fiscal 2027 year.
