Freeport gains as Indonesia mine ramp-up stays on track
FCX•Freeport-McMoRan said the ramp-up at Indonesia’s Grasberg mine is in line with expectations and kept its forecast to reach 80% capacity in mid-2027 and near full capacity by year-end 2027.
1. Production outlook
Freeport-McMoRan said third-quarter consolidated copper production of about 830 million pounds was in line with expectations, while gold production of about 230,000 ounces nearly met expectations. Copper sales are expected to meet the company’s July forecast, but gold sales are expected to miss it because of deferred shipments.
