FTSE Russell maintains Turkey's Advanced Emerging status, does not add it to watch list

FTSE Russell said on Tuesday it is not placing Turkey on its watch list and its Advanced Emerging market status remains unchanged. The decision follows the postponement of certain index changes for Turkey at the provider's September 2026 review, after it flagged difficulties reconciling official free-float figures with its methodology.
2. Data discussions continue
FTSE Russell said it continues to engage with Borsa Istanbul and Turkey's Capital Markets Board, which is reviewing whether to improve the detail of free-float data published by the Central Securities Depository. Last month, Turkish regulators ordered the liquidation of 131 funds managed by seven asset managers after new investment-fund regulations triggered a liquidity crunch, with some funds defaulting on obligations.
