Fuel Tech Secures $10M Emissions Control Contracts Including 100 MW SCR Project
Fuel Tech clinched air pollution control contracts totaling about $10 million, including a SCR installation for two natural gas turbines that will add 100 MW to a Midwest municipal utility’s output, with deliveries starting in late 2027. It also booked SNCR and SCR upgrade orders for industrial clients scheduled for Q3 2026.
1. Contract Awards and Value
Fuel Tech was awarded multiple air pollution control contracts worth approximately $10 million from domestic utility and industrial customers, marking a significant expansion of its emissions control portfolio.
2. Midwest Utility SCR Integration
The largest award involves integrating Fuel Tech’s Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology with two new natural gas-fired turbines at a publicly owned Midwest municipal utility, aimed at boosting the plant’s generation capacity by about 100 MW to meet regional demand growth.
3. Industrial Client SNCR and SCR Upgrades
Two additional orders include an upgrade to a NOxOUT® Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) system for a southern industrial customer and an enhancement to an existing SCR system for a Midwest industrial client, both slated for completion in Q3 2026.
4. Project Timeline and Deliverables
Engineering work on the SCR integration will commence immediately with equipment deliveries beginning in late 2027; the expanded generating station is expected to be operational in 2029, supporting long-term utility and commercial growth objectives.
