Fury Gold Mines Launches Two-Year Baseline Study at 100% Owned Eau Claire Project

FURYFURY

Fury Gold Mines has begun a two-year environmental baseline study at its 100% owned Eau Claire high-grade gold project in Quebec’s Eeyou Istchee Territory, engaging Cree-owned firm Wassah to inventory air, water, soil and biotic resources. This program underpins future environmental impact assessments and mine permitting applications.

1. Study Initiation and Scope

Fury Gold Mines has initiated an environmental baseline program at its Eau Claire project aimed at establishing current environmental conditions. Over the next two years, field inventories will document air quality, hydrology, soil characteristics and local biota to form the foundation for a comprehensive environmental impact assessment.

2. Partnership with Indigenous Firm Wassah

The company has engaged Wassah, a Cree-owned multidisciplinary environmental services and forestry firm headquartered in Eastmain, Quebec. Wassah brings expertise in community relations and sustainable practices, integrating traditional knowledge and aboriginal workforce participation into every phase of the study.

3. Implications for Permitting and Development

Data gathered will guide the design of mitigation measures, support environmental effects predictions and inform mine planning. Establishing baseline conditions is critical for regulatory authorization, helping Fury optimize economic potential while minimizing ecological impacts as it advances technical studies at Eau Claire.
