1. Monetization of 2025 Credits
FutureFuel finalized the sale of all its 2025 Section 45Z Clean Fuel Production and Small Producer Tax Credits to Freepoint Commodities, generating roughly $3 million in pre‐fee cash proceeds. This transaction met the company’s prior guidance and marks its first full monetization of low-carbon biodiesel credits from the Batesville facility.
2. Commitment to 2026 Credits
The company has entered a binding agreement to sell its estimated $19 million of 2026 Section 45Z credits to the same counterparty, consolidating the sale with one buyer to reduce transaction complexity and net costs. This multiyear structure secures upfront liquidity and streamlines future credit realization.
3. Strategic and Financial Impact
Proceeds from these tax credit sales will be directed toward chemical segment expansion projects, supporting proprietary specialty and performance chemical manufacturing. The monetization aligns with FutureFuel’s low-carbon fuel strategy and enhances funding for initiatives aimed at driving long-term shareholder value.
