Galiano Gold Reports Zero Environmental Incidents and 367 Local Business Partnerships
GAU•Galiano Gold achieved zero significant environmental incidents and strong environmental audit results while launching rosewood forestry and cashew farming trials on reclaimed land. The Asanko Gold Mine workforce was 99.9% Ghanaian, supported 367 local businesses and initiated a five-year socio-economic development plan.
1. Sustainability Report Release
Galiano Gold released its 2025 Sustainability Report covering both corporate offices and the Asanko Gold Mine. The report outlines key environmental, social and governance achievements and future sustainability objectives.
2. Environmental Performance
The company recorded zero significant environmental incidents and received a strong environmental audit in Ghana. It also launched rosewood forestry and cashew farming trials on reclaimed mine land to enhance biodiversity.
3. Social and Health Initiatives
Galiano’s five-year socio-economic development plan aims to guide long-term community investment. The Asanko Gold Mine workforce is 99.9% Ghanaian and 367 local businesses received support, while the mine won a national health and safety award.
4. Governance Enhancements
Galiano completed the majority of its Human Rights Impact Assessment Action Plan ahead of schedule and established a Technical Committee of the board. A new Tailings Management Policy was also published to strengthen operational oversight.
