Gallagher Pen Underwriting acquires Ireland’s Ornella Underwriting
AJG•Arthur J. Gallagher acquired Wexford-based managing general agent Ornella Underwriting. Ornella will join Gallagher’s Pen Underwriting unit; financial terms were not disclosed.
1. Deal expands Irish business
Ornella Underwriting, which focuses on motor and home insurance distributed through independent brokers, will be folded into Gallagher’s Pen Underwriting unit. Paul Whelan will continue leading the business from its current location, reporting to Michael Doyle, Pen’s Ireland operations head.
