GE Vernova wins Hawaiian Electric order for six LM6000VELOX turbine packages for Waiau plant repower

GE Vernova won a contract from Hawaiian Electric to supply six LM6000VELOX aeroderivative gas turbine packages for the Waiau Power Plant on Oahu.
The order supports the replacement of aging oil-fired steam turbines and targets more than 250 MW of firm capacity once fully deployed.
The first two units are scheduled to enter commercial operation in 2029, with the remaining units to follow in phases.
