Genmab's petosemtamab combination cuts death risk 50% in Phase 3 head and neck cancer trial
GMAB•Genmab said its petosemtamab-pembrolizumab combination cut the risk of death by 50% versus pembrolizumab in a Phase 3 trial of first-line PD-L1-positive recurrent or metastatic head and neck cancer. The combination met both primary endpoints, with improved overall survival and objective response.
1. Trial results
The combination met both primary endpoints in the Phase 3 LiGeR-HN1 trial at its first interim analysis. Overall survival improved versus pembrolizumab (hazard ratio 0.50; 95% confidence interval 0.37–0.67), and objective response improved (odds ratio 3.17; 95% confidence interval 2.06–4.89); both results had p<0.0001. The findings applied regardless of HPV status. The treatment was generally well tolerated, with no new safety signals.
2. Next steps
Genmab plans to engage global regulators and submit the full results for presentation at a future medical meeting.
