House broker Panmure Liberum has upgraded its outlook for Genus PLC, forecasting that the animal genetics group could join the FTSE 100 index by the end of the decade. In its latest research note, the broker highlighted that trading conditions in the PIC pork division have remained robust for three consecutive quarters, with year-on-year volume growth of 8% in China and 6% in Latin America during the first half of Genus’s 2026 financial year. The division also benefited from a 5% increase in average selling prices across key export markets, driven by strong demand for high-health genetics. Panmure Liberum cited an improved operating margin in PIC of 18.5%, up from 16.2% a year earlier, and expects full-year adjusted operating profit to exceed consensus by 10%.
