Global Water Resources’ subsidiaries filed Designation of Assured Water Supply (DAWS) applications with Arizona Department of Water Resources for GW-Santa Cruz and GW-Ocotillo, aiming to expand long-term water supplies in key Arizona growth corridors.
2. GW-Santa Cruz Expansion Details
GW-Santa Cruz currently holds 22,914 acre-feet per year from the Maricopa-Stanfield Sub-basin and has filed to increase its assured supply by 20% to 27,466 acre-feet, leveraging recycled water from its Southwest Plant and potential Groundwater Savings Credits under the Ag-to-Urban program.
3. GW-Ocotillo Application
GW-Ocotillo, serving roughly 2,000 connections acquired from Tucson in 2025, submitted a DAWS application for 1,128 acre-feet per year to support residential and commercial development across its Pima County service area.
4. Service Connections Growth and Timeline
Global Water reported a 5.7% year-over-year rise in active service connections to 68,885 as of March 31, 2026, and expects ADWR decisions on both DAWS applications by the fourth quarter of 2027.
