GlobalFoundries expanded a multi-year agreement with Marvell to increase silicon-germanium manufacturing capacity at its Burlington, Vermont, facility.
Added capacity targets rising demand for next-generation optical connectivity in AI data centers, including pluggable transceivers, near-packaged optics, co-packaged optics.
The deal builds on existing production, with output expected to rise materially to meet Marvell’s growing requirements.
The SiGe platform supports 200G-per-lane optical connectivity, with a roadmap aimed at higher-speed generations.
