GlobalFoundries gains after $2 billion silicon interposer deal with TSMC
GFS•GlobalFoundries rose 4.64% premarket after agreeing to a multi-year, $2 billion deal with TSMC to establish a U.S.-based supply of silicon interposers. Volume production is expected to ramp in the first half of 2028.
1. Five-year agreement
GlobalFoundries reached an agreement with TSMC to establish a U.S.-based supply of silicon interposers for advanced AI packaging. The deal expands capacity at GlobalFoundries’ Malta, New York, facility and has an initial five-year term.
