Google backs Constellation nuclear uprates, adding 890 MW to PJM grid under long-term power deal
Alphabet announced a long-term nuclear power deal with Constellation to add 890 MW of capacity to the PJM grid by 2032. The work targets upgrades at six operating plants and is expected to sustain about 4,400 jobs and support about 7,200 construction jobs.
1. Nuclear power deal
The agreement will finance upgrades at six operating nuclear plants in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey to increase output from existing reactors. It also includes deploying Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise to support planning, construction and operations optimization across Constellation’s nuclear fleet.
