GOOG•Google will deploy a 23MW/200MWh CO₂ battery in County Offaly with Energy Dome, its first bilateral commercial project on a former peat-fired site. Google has secured AI compute capacity through SpaceX deals tied to an estimated $27.5 billion in annual GPU revenue for its cloud services.
Google and Energy Dome will collaborate on a 23MW/200MWh compressed-CO₂ battery facility in County Offaly, repurposing a former peat-fired power site to strengthen grid resilience near Dublin’s high-voltage node. Energy Dome will develop, own and operate the plant, supporting Ireland’s push toward 80% renewable power by 2030.
Google has secured AI compute capacity from SpaceX under agreements that contribute to a total of $27.5 billion in annual GPU revenue for the launch provider, enhancing Google Cloud’s long-term infrastructure flexibility. The deals leverage excess GPU capacity on the xAI platform to support high-margin AI workloads.
