Greenland Mines Inspects ST1 and ST40 Zones and 25-30-Person Camp, Plans 2026 Field Program
GRML•Greenland Mines completed a site visit on May 28, 2026 to its newly acquired Sarfartoq Nd-Pr project, inspecting the ST1 and ST40 zones, two on-site drill rigs and a 25-30-person camp. The company plans to reopen the camp later in 2026 for geological mapping, environmental baseline studies and resource validation.
1. Acquisition and Site Visit
On May 20, 2026 Greenland Mines signed a definitive agreement to acquire Neo North Star Resources and its Sarfartoq Nd-Pr rare earth project. On May 28, Country Manager Hans Jensen and Permitting Manager Robert Møller conducted the inaugural site visit, inspecting the ST1 Nd-Pr ore zone, the ST40 target and the 2.5-kilometre corridor between them.
2. Infrastructure Assessment and 2026 Field Program
The team evaluated two on-site diamond drill rigs and a fully equipped camp capable of housing 25–30 personnel. Greenland Mines plans to reopen the camp later in 2026 for geological mapping, data verification, drilling preparations and the second year of environmental baseline studies toward an Exploitation License submission.
3. Historical Drilling Data and Resource Validation
Neo North Star completed a 4,607-metre infill drill program at ST1 in 2023, adding to more than 18,000 metres of historic core, bringing total drilling to roughly 35,800 metres across 161 holes. Greenland Mines will prioritize independent validation of the 2023 dataset and update the Mineral Resource Estimate, exploring the potential for niobium by-products and higher-value rare earth elements such as terbium and dysprosium.
4. Strategic Rationale and Next Steps
Sarfartoq’s combination of strong Nd-Pr enrichment, established technical work and favorable logistics supports a straightforward development profile. Continued collaboration with Neo as an offtake partner and shareholder, along with plans to modernize the Preliminary Economic Assessment with current market prices, aims to reset market understanding of the project’s scale and value.
