Europe holds onto gains at midday
We're around the half-way point in Europe's trading day, and indices across the region are holding onto gains for now.
The cross-regional STOXX 600 .STOXX is up 0.2% in a slightly choppy session, with the DAX .GDAXI, CAC .FCHI and FTSE .FTSE all around 0.1% higher.
Tech leads, while media and real estate lag
Tech stocks .SX8P are up 1.1%, with the likes of BE Semiconductor Industries BESI.AS and Aixtron AIXGn.DE up around 5% each. The sector has taken over from aerospace and defense .SXPARO as the biggest riser, with the latter now just 0.4% higher.
On the other end of the sector spectrum, media stocks .SXMP and real estate names <>SX86P> are leading declines, both down around 1.2%.
In single stocks, Bachem shares BANB.S were last up 9.4% after the Swiss peptide manufacturer announced investments of more than 500 million Swiss francs ($617.67 million) in its Sisslerfeld greenfield project.
