Hansoh Pharma licenses oral IL-23 drug HS-20118 to Avere in deal worth up to USD 2.3 billion

Hansoh Pharma signed an exclusive global license with Avere for oral IL-23 receptor antagonist HS-20118, excluding mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
Deal terms include USD 120 million in upfront payments, up to USD 2.18 billion in development and sales milestones, and royalties from mid-single to low-double digits.
Investment and merger details
Hansoh also made a minority investment in Avere via subscription of convertible notes tied to a merger closing.
Avere agreed to merge with Nasdaq-listed NextCure in an all-stock transaction, expected in H2 2026; the combined company is to trade as AVRX.
Hansoh expects to own more than 30% but less than 40% of the combined entity on a fully diluted basis.
