Harmonic Launches Spectrum X with AI Upscaling and Hybrid Streaming Tools

Harmonic unveiled its next-generation Spectrum X media server with NVIDIA GPU-accelerated HD-to-UHD upscaling and AI overlay service at NAB Show 2026. Its XOS Advanced Media Processor now supports DTV+ and ATSC 3.0 on one appliance, while VOS360 SaaS adds server-side ad insertion, multiview tools and hybrid Red Hat OpenShift streaming.

1. Next-Generation Video Appliances

Harmonic introduced its Spectrum X media server, which simplifies ingest and playout while cutting total cost per channel. The XOS Advanced Media Processor now integrates playout, premium encoding and DTV+ and ATSC 3.0 delivery on a single appliance, aiding broadcasters transitioning to new standards or shifting away from C-Band spectrum.

2. Enhanced Streaming and Monetization Solutions

The company showcased VOS Media Software running on Red Hat OpenShift for centralized hybrid cloud streaming management. VOS360 Media SaaS now features server-side in-stream ad insertion for live events and a configurable multiview solution to boost viewer engagement and revenue through combined ad and multiview channels.

3. AI-Driven Workflow Innovations

Harmonic launched an AI overlay service that orchestrates best-of-breed AI functions for live content, offering broadcast-grade resilience and seamless integration with Spectrum X, XOS processor, VOS Media Software and VOS360 SaaS. NVIDIA GPU acceleration enables advanced server-side HD-to-UHD upscaling, delivering 4K quality from full-HD sources.
