Harris Teeter Launches Simple Truth™ Protein Line and 30-Minute Virtual Dietitian Sessions

In January, Kroger’s Harris Teeter is rolling out a Simple Truth™ Protein line including five high-protein SKUs and smart tags across 250 stores with FoodHealth Score data. The initiative also provides every VIC card household a free 30-minute virtual nutrition consultation to drive digital engagement and loyalty.

1. Kroger’s Harris Teeter Bolsters Health and Wellness Strategy

Kroger’s wholly owned subsidiary Harris Teeter today unveiled its “Happier, Healthier with Harris Teeter” initiative, rolling out in January across all 250 stores and 70 fuel centers. The program features the new Simple Truth™ Protein line—seven registered dietitian–approved items spanning breakfast, snacks, meals and pantry staples—augmented smart product tags (high protein, no added sugar, non-GMO, gluten-free) and enhanced digital tools such as FoodHealth Scores. Harris Teeter will also provide every VIC card household a complimentary 30-minute virtual nutrition coaching session, delivered by licensed dietitians (excluding South Carolina), to guide customers on meal planning and use of the OptUP® Nutrition Insights platform. Headquartered in Matthews, N.C., and employing 36,000 associates, Harris Teeter’s health-focused push underscores Kroger’s broader strategy to drive customer loyalty, increase basket healthfulness and capture growing demand for nutritionally transparent offerings in 2026.
