Sherwood’s two 70,000 sq ft facilities with 150 employees will remain under management and are expected to lift Heico’s earnings post-closing.

HEICO Corporation’s Flight Support Group purchased 80% of Sherwood Avionics and Accessories, leaving 20% ownership with Sherwood’s management team. Transaction terms were not disclosed, and existing leadership will continue to oversee operations at Sherwood’s Florida facilities.

2. Sherwood’s MRO Capabilities

Sherwood is an FAA and EASA Part 145 repair station specializing in maintenance, repair and overhaul of complex components including auxiliary power units, landing gear, wheels and brakes, pneumatics, hydraulics, fuel and lighting systems, and avionics. The business operates from two adjacent 70,000 sq ft facilities near Miami’s Opa-locka Airport and employs approximately 150 technicians and support staff.

3. Strategic Impact

HEICO expects the acquisition to be accretive to its earnings in the year following the closing, enhancing its defense service offerings and strengthening its OEM and government relationships. This move broadens HEICO’s footprint in mission-critical maintenance services and complements its decentralized operating model.
