Henkel and CALB signed an MoU to establish a joint Battery Innovation Center in Changzhou, China. Opened on September 29, 2026, the roughly 400-square-meter facility brings together more than 30 specialists under a three-year framework; its first joint project cut core development cycles to about three months.

Henkel and CALB signed an MoU to establish a joint Battery Innovation Center at CALB’s pilot-scale site in Changzhou, China. The facility opened on September 29, 2026, spans about 400 square meters and brings together more than 30 specialists under a three-year framework to develop, test, simulate and validate battery materials.
2. Initial focus on adhesives
The center aims to speed qualification of new battery materials and shorten concept-to-production timelines for next-generation batteries. Its initial focus is adhesive technologies for new energy vehicle batteries, and the first joint project cut core development cycles to about three months.
