Shares of telehealth firm Hims & Hers (HIMS.N) fell 13.8% to $25.29 in afternoon trading.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is suing Hims alleging that the company shared users' health data with online advertisers despite promising privacy and engaged in deceptive billing and cancellation practices, Reuters reports, citing an FTC spokesperson.
Data-sharing and billing allegations
The report says user data was shared with companies including Meta Platforms (META.O) and Snap (SNAP.N) via interactions with Hims' website and through tracking technologies.
Hims & Hers also starts charging users for prescriptions before they have had a chance to meet with healthcare providers, the spokesperson says per the report.
Including the session's move, HIMS stock is down 18% year to date.
