HKSTP Leads 41-Company Delegation, Seals LabCentral, OPIS, Teuto MOUs at BIO 2026
BIO•Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation led a record delegation of 41 companies and university spin-offs to BIO 2026 in San Diego, doubling last year’s pavilion size. Delegates signed three strategic MOUs with LabCentral, OPIS for HIV vaccine trials, and Brazil’s Laboratório Teuto for ophthalmology collaboration.
1. Record Delegation at BIO 2026
HKSTP assembled its largest-ever Hong Kong pavilion with 41 park companies, research institutes and spin-offs from five top universities. This doubled the size of last year’s presence and highlighted strengths in AI-enabled biotech, therapeutics, diagnostics and pharma innovation.
2. Strategic Partnerships Formed
Three major MOUs were signed: with LabCentral to support cross-border startup infrastructure and programs; with OPIS to execute multi-country clinical trials for the novel HIV vaccine ICVAX; and with Brazil’s Laboratório Teuto to commercialize Zhaoke Ophthalmology’s eye-care treatments in Latin America.
3. Networking, Panels and Pitch Success
HKSTP hosted a Global Mixer featuring industry leaders like Bayer and Johnson & Johnson, and participated in a global biotech panel. Ahead of the show, Meta Pharmaceuticals (HK) Limited secured third place among 170 competitors in the Biomedical Pitch Competition, underscoring the pipeline’s global potential.
