Hobart Brothers, ITW unit, launches Fabshield FE80 and FE81 self-shielded flux-cored wires

Hobart Brothers, an Illinois Tool Works unit, launched two self-shielded flux-cored welding wires, Fabshield FE80 and FE81, targeting structural steel applications.

The products aim to deliver 80 ksi tensile strength with low-hydrogen deposits below 8 ml per 100 grams, potentially reducing preheating needs.

Hobart positioned the wires for ASTM A913 Grade 65 steel, including AWS D1.8 demand-critical seismic welds.
