CUKCUK

Carnival’s Holland America Line has launched a $500 million Holland America Evolution program to revamp six ships, beginning with Oosterdam’s fall 2027 overhaul. The updates will add 76 staterooms—including 30 Solo Verandahs, two Bridgeview Suites and 24 Vista Suites—and introduce Grand Dutch Café across the fleet.

1. Evolution Program Launch

The Holland America Evolution is a multiyear, $500 million initiative to revitalize six ships, marking the largest guest experience update in the line’s 153-year history. The program will deliver bow-to-stern refurbishments, expanded dining and bar venues, and new stateroom categories designed to enhance choice and appeal to modern travelers.

2. Oosterdam Fall 2027 Overhaul

Oosterdam is the first to enter dry dock in fall 2027, receiving 76 additional staterooms including 30 Solo Verandahs, two Bridgeview Suites, 24 Vista Suites and a reimagined Pinnacle Suite. The overhaul also introduces the Grand Dutch Café, bringing a popular Pinnacle Class venue to mainstream guests.

3. Fleet-Wide Rollout and Partnerships

Renovations will extend to four Vista Class ships (Oosterdam, Zuiderdam, Westerdam, Noordam) and two Signature Class vessels (Nieuw Amsterdam, Eurodam) over several years. Holland America Line will collaborate with Fincantieri for precise shipbuilding, aiming to boost capacity while maintaining intimate ship design and sustainability standards.

4. Strategic and Financial Outlook

The investment is expected to increase passenger capacity, drive premium pricing and enhance guest loyalty through tailored experiences. By aligning upgrades with growing traveler demand for solo and suite accommodations, the line aims to strengthen market positioning and yield a favorable return on investment.
