HPE Unveils 15% Faster NonStop Compute and Completes $13.4B Juniper Acquisition

HPEHPE

HPE paid $13.4 billion in July 2025 to acquire Juniper Networks, bolstering quantum-safe SD-WAN and AI-driven networking within a market projected to reach $3.44 billion by 2029 at a 28% CAGR. At NRF 2026, HPE launched NonStop Compute NS9 X5 servers and 8-port Aruba CX 6000 switches with 15% performance gains.

1. Strategic Acquisition Strengthens Networking Portfolio

In July 2025, HPE completed its $13.4 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks, a move that significantly expands the company’s secure, AI-driven networking capabilities. By integrating Juniper’s high-performance routers and SD-WAN solutions, HPE bolsters its ability to offer end-to-end, quantum-resilient wide area network services. This transaction enhances HPE’s addressable market in enterprise and telecommunications segments, positioning the firm to capture a larger share of the forecasted $3.44 billion quantum-safe SD-WAN market by 2029, which is expected to grow at a 28% CAGR from 2024 to 2029.

2. Quantum-Safe SD-WAN Market Opportunity

ResearchAndMarkets projects the global quantum-safe SD-WAN market to expand from $1.0 billion in 2024 to $1.28 billion in 2025, driven by demand for quantum-resistant encryption and zero-trust architectures. HPE’s combined Juniper and Aruba portfolios enable the company to offer AI-native network management alongside post-quantum cryptography, aligning with industry trends such as Fortinet’s FortiOS 7.6 update. With hybrid cloud deployments surging—cloud adoption rising from 41% to 45.2% of enterprises between 2021 and 2023—HPE is well-positioned to capture service and software revenues in consulting, deployment, and managed SD-WAN offerings.

3. Expanded Retail-Ready Portfolio at NRF 2026

At Retail’s Big Show in January 2026, HPE unveiled enhancements to its retail-ready portfolio, combining Aruba Networking CX switching, Mist AIOps, and HPE Nonstop Compute to deliver continuous, secure connectivity from back office to curbside. New 8-port PoE and non-PoE CX 6000 switches increase power capacity for IoT devices and digital signage without network reconfiguration. HPE Nonstop NS9 X5 and NS5 X5 platforms now support up to 4,000-node clustering with 15% higher performance, ensuring uninterrupted transaction processing during peak demand and reinforcing HPE’s leadership in fault-tolerant edge-to-core solutions.

4. Accelerating AI-Native and Subscription-Based Growth

HPE is integrating AI-driven insights and subscription pricing to drive recurring revenues. The Mist AIOps platform’s Marvis virtual network assistant now ingests Juniper Premium Analytics for location and occupancy metrics, moving retailers from reactive troubleshooting to proactive operations. Both Aruba CX switching and Nonstop Compute are offered through HPE GreenLake, aligning hardware and software investments with business outcomes. This shift toward as-a-service consumption models is expected to contribute to HPE’s targeted mid-teens percentage growth in recurring revenue streams over the next three fiscal years.
