HSBC Partners with Google Cloud, Aims for 200 AI Tasks and $100M Gains
HSBC•HSBC announced a multi-year partnership with Google Cloud to build AI capabilities, integrating Google’s Gemini model and collaborating with Google DeepMind teams. The bank plans to enable 200 additional AI-driven tasks over two years and target projects delivering more than $100 million each in revenue or efficiency improvements.

HSBC has entered a multi-year agreement with Google Cloud to accelerate its AI development. The collaboration includes access to Google’s Gemini large language model and support from Google DeepMind engineering teams to identify and prioritize high-impact AI projects.
2. Deployment and Use Cases
The partnership will focus on personalized wealth management advice, financial crime risk management, and AI-empowered decision making for frontline staff. HSBC expects to activate 200 new AI-driven tasks over the next two years and already runs 600 applications on Google Cloud.

HSBC aims for each prioritized AI initiative to deliver over $100 million in incremental revenue or cost savings. CEO Georges Elhedery highlighted that the tie-up will make the bank simpler, more agile and better equipped for future growth.
