Huntsman Opens Expanded Petfurdo Facility in Hungary, Boosting JEFFCAT® Catalyst Capacity
Huntsman inaugurated its expanded Performance Products manufacturing facility in Petfurdo, Hungary, after starting operations earlier this year, boosting capacity for polyurethane, coatings and metalworking. Supported by a Hungarian government grant, the expansion adds JEFFCAT® amine catalysts capacity to meet rising demand in automotive, bedding and insulation markets.

Huntsman celebrated the grand opening of its expanded Performance Products manufacturing unit in Petfurdo, Hungary, where operations commenced at the start of 2026. This expansion project extends the site’s production footprint, positioning it to handle increased output in response to global demand for specialty chemicals.
2. Capacity and Product Portfolio
The new unit increases capacity for JEFFCAT® amine catalysts and other Performance Products used in polyurethane, coatings and metalworking industries. These catalysts support applications in automotive seating, mattresses and energy-efficient building insulation, aligning Huntsman’s portfolio with growth in industrial and consumer markets.

Backed by a Hungarian government investment grant, the project underscores local collaboration and confidence in long-term regional development.
